Wilmorton is
situated between the old railway technical centre building on
London Road and
Alvaston Park, the housing is mainly terraced houses that were built to serve
the sprawling railway industry.

Above and below
is the Lakeside Community Primary School on London Road,
originally built in 1892 as a Victorian Boarding School. The
School is now embarking on a new chapter as it is relocating
to a new site on Alvaston Park, originally the School was
simply Wilmorton School and later merged with Southgate Infant
School which then became known as Lakeside Community Primary
School. The
1901 Wesleyan chapel above right was acquired by the School
for it's expansion, below is the playground and below them are pictures
showing the site for the new School on Alvaston
