Breadsall once had it's own railway station on the Great Northern Line from Ilkeston to Derby, the Station closed in 1953 and the line eventually closed in 1964. The Station is shown opposite standing majestically on the skyline, this was the view that greeted you from Croft Lane. Many thanks to Tony Griffin who supplied the Station pictures and information

The Station how it stood in 1974, a few years later there was a fire and the station had to be demolished, the pictures on the left would have been the view from the gates on Station Road and the picture below right would have been looking down the line towards Ilkeston
