This grand building was built for the Local Board of the Borough Education Offices in 1893 as shown above right in the stone inscription, it was Berlins pub as shown above left in 1990, sometime around 2000 it changed names and had a refit to become Aruba.

Opposite on the left  is Flares, it was previously the Flamingo and Firkin, where beer was brewed on site.

Padley House, formerly the United Methodist Chapel, built in 1856 complete with a pediment, which unfortunately has been removed over the time, the doors closed as a chapel in 1960, past occupancies included a theatrical costume hire business. It is now a ten bedroomed Direct Access Hostel, catering for homeless people.
