This has now changed again with the new Wilmorton School being built here in 2006 as shown below

The lake showing signs of neglect, at one time the lake was fed from a natural spring and in the late 1920's and 1930's the children used to paddle in the small stream that flowed into the lake, the lake is now sourced from the river with the resulting algae that is prevalent.

Opposite was one of the parks best known neighbours, Willmorton Tertiary College, now bulldozed and now a housing development, more building work above right, security fencing has been erected around the new Willmorton School site, below left is a view across the River of industrial units that frequent the opposite side of the river, below right the BMX track can just be seen in front of the BT mast.
